Just got back from Angeles Shooting Range today after shooting 56 factory rounds of 338 Lapua Mag in my Savage 110 BA. The rifle shot small groups with 300 gr ammo but didn’t care much for the 250 gr rounds. Also hit some steel rams and pigs out to 600 yds without any problems.

The “king fisher” is actually a white-crested laughing thrush. Zephyr, a white-crested laughing thrush chick, hatched on March 7. The tiny chick received national attention as one of only three white-crested laughing thrushes hatched in captivity worldwide. Though it’s fairly common in Southeast Asia, South China and East India, the species is becoming increasingly rare in North American zoos since concerns about avian influenza have stopped importation. For the past several years zoos have had to rely on captive breeding programs to maintain the North American population.

I like the shot when the girl is jumping in the air with a sword, fighting with her brother. That’s what the character Tina was channeling in that scene in the real Children Of Invention. You can see it in theaters in Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles in February and March 2010!
